These “Fractions Flash Cards” are from 1962; the publisher is Whitman. The instruction card informs us that we can also use them to play a game called “Halt.” In case you’re stumped, by the way, this image shows one third.

I believe it’s a melon. I do like the idea of teaching fractions with hairballs, though — owl pellets, too.

owl pellets go on and on…….they leave a lot of mysteries and thirds of other things…or maybe fifths or quarters of other things…..
