This is great stuff. As you may have noticed, most of the places mentioned are in the Queens-Nassau area. Anything from Suffolk, particularly Huntington (where I grew up?) Suffolk was mostly farmland back then, but Huntington and Babylon probably had some hot spots.
I’m glad you found it! It’s a fascinating time capsule. I checked the two issues I have here: there are ads for The Dock, “where fishermen meet to eat, drink, and fish,” in Babylon, and The Gaetaway [sic] in Huntington, featuring dancing Fridays and Saturdays to the Escorts. Other Suffolk advertisers: the Bill-Mar Lounge in Amityville, the Colonial Inn in Deer Park, Donohue’s in Bayport, George’s Ranch Inn and Ruggiero Restaurant in Lindenhurst, and Kearney’s Lamplighter in Sayville.
