funny, I just finished reading Theodore Drieser’s “Sister Carrie”….haven’t thought of that name in ages before…..another “Careless Carrie” (with less charm than “sister”) is clumsily not carefully carrying her tray. The old maid is well accessorized with bow, earrings, necklace and frilly collar and a drunkard’s swollen nose too…another role model
