One of our members, Dr. Mamie Caton, found this photo tucked into a book in a hotel room in Peru. Does anyone know where it comes from? Is it a mural? A sidewalk painting? Why have these particular elements been brought together in this way? Any information would be appreciated.

It looks to be in the style of the artwork from the Unarius UFO cult in Southern California.

So it does! The photo, by the way, is a Kodak 4″ x 6″ glossy, not a postcard or clipping.

Someone told me they had seen chalk paintings on the sidewalks in a city in Peru (Iquitos) done in a similar style. I could not confirm this.

I did a bit of rooting around on the www, and found that there’s a group in Peru and Chile, “Alfa y Omega,” whose theology links Jesus and UFOs. Could they have something to do with this? I couldn’t find any artwork associated with them.
